A date with Treasureline MD

You can’t come in….. The Policeman shouted at me in a very rude way.
I was in front of the main Head office of Treasureline Interlink. I simply could not understand why the security man refused me. On the other side of the gates are other young people like myself who supposedly came for the same mission. After an unsuccessful attempt in getting entry, I decided to call Johnson, who specifically arranged a meeting for me with the MD couple of days earlier.
After couple of minutes, he was at the gate ordering the Security man to allow me in as I have an appointment with the MD.

As I walked briskly in, I couldn’t contain my amazement. There were over 100 people in the main office hall of Treasureline office. In a specific corner are group of hopefuls, young and old, male and female, as well as the educated and illiterate, scrambling round three over pressured data entry officers. On the other side is an enclave demarcated with ply woods, it house the table of the MD. Jostling around another corner are other group of people signing and stamping a specific slip.

Gbengaijot…..Please come over, the MD beckoned. As I approach, I swiftly hurried a thank you gesture to Johnson who ushered me in.
The MD enclave was occupied by some top notch bank officials as I could recognise them by their Logo tags attached to the hem of the Suits.

“Please sit down”……He motioned me to an empty seat.
I continued to perspire even under the cool breeze that ooze out of the four working Air conditioners in the main hall.

“Are you amazed?”
“Yes I am” I said after closing my wide open mouth which had stayed wide open for last couple of minutes
“That’s how people flock in here to invest”, he retorted and smiled at the same time.

I sat down there for another thirty minutes as I wait for him to attend to myriads of people, both professionals and illiterate who are willing to get more information or perhaps see him for other business needs. Eventually, he motioned me to go with him outside as he envisage that he wont be able to attend to me if he remains in the office. He later showed me some of his staffs inclusive of his lawyer, as well as other branch Managers of bank that he hold account with. As a way of making it difficut for people to track him down, he asked me if we could talk in one of his cars, which I gladly accepted.

After settling down and exchanging pleasantries, he then told me that he actually told one of his staff to track down my contact details over the internet/on Nairaland as he has been reading a lot of the discussions on the Business thread. He told me that my intelligence as well as that of Chuksy and Loads is so great that he for once thought I was already a B.sc Holder in Business of which I jokingly laughed at.
As I got more impatient at his many way of making the atmosphere informal, I jumped straight to my many questions.

He was a lecturer at the polytechnic of Ibadan and after working there for so many years since he graduated in 1991, he decided to start treasureline about 7 months ago on the 17th of August 2006. He did started with a meagre amount of Money which has so far turned to a very large capital base and also which estimated payoff for week 23 will be about 800 Million Naira. From what he said, they basically invest the bulk of the capital into Stock Market, Real Estate, Equities and Bond and Oil and Gas. He sincerely did not detailed this to me as he regard it as a trade secret because of the many copycats in town, but I later deduced them based on my judgements from my many questions.
I now then asked him how the whole process works and he did some bit of explanation:

He explained the very many slot for operational week 23 as detailed below:
No Of Slots Amount Payable Amount Pay-off
7 9,400 30,000
15 19,000 70,000
21 26,000 100,000
31 38,000 150,000
41 50,200 200,000
63 76,600 310,000
127 153,400 630,000
255 307,000 1.27M
511 614,200 2.55M
1,023 1,228,600 5.11M
2,047 2,457,400 10.23M

Subscription is basically based on slots bought as well as the time frame for each operational week. Operational week is quite independent of the normal calendar week. An operational week translates to the target sales of slot. So lets assume that for each operational week, a total of five thousand slots must be sold, if they are sold within one day, 5 days or two weeks, then that translates to one operational week. After the slots have been sold, then the next opeartiona week will begin, and all investor for each operational week will be paid four operational weeks after. So if we say that I invest on operational week 10, then my pay-off will be in operational week 14. Therefore the date of subscription for slots is not very important, but the operational week is. He now further stated that the maximum time frame that pay-off has taken has been a maximum period of 12 weeks, but that they’ve been able to pay people off within such time frame. But pay-off is always done on every operational week.

He then explained to me that they make so much profit with the large capital base that the amount of payoff to each investor after the period of incubation of their capital is quite a fraction of the profits they make.

Also, after asking him some further questions, he also told me that operational week 23 will soon close within couple of days depending on the amount of slots sold. And due to his efforts in registering with the security exchange commission, the amount of subscription and payoff will be changing in the operational week 24 as detailed below:

No of Slots Amount Payable Pay-off
7 14,300 30,000
15 29,000 70,000
21 40,900 100,000
31 59,900 150,000
41 78,900 200,000
63 120,700 310,000
127 242,300 630,000
255 485,500 1.27M

The figures changed due to the fact that he needs to comply with SEC regulations.

I now further questioned him about the role of CBN, EFCC as well as SEC.

And he laughed and seriously told me that he specifically wrote a letter about three times to EFCC to explain his method of business and to explain to them about him being a fund Manager, and he was directed to go to CBN. At CBN, he was told that only Banks and finance house are required to register with CBN and if Treasureline is not a finance house, but rather a fund Management company, then he needs to register with SEC, hence his listing with SEC. He told me that he is only awaiting a final meeting for approval with SEC as he has completed the first three stages of Registration.

He now told me that they will be building a website for information purpose only for people overseas and people who are far away from the source of information. He told me that he was only mindful of Yahoo Yahoo boys initially, and that’s why he did not try advertising on the web. I then suggested making a small brochure that will further give information of which he told me he’ll look into.

After exhausting all my questions and curiosity, he then further asked me if I could work with him. I was surprised about it but he further stated that he is surprised at my abilities and business intelligence.
I sincerely know personally that I haven’t got too much in my head except all I read over the internet, but he seem to be perfectly ok with the way I relate that he suggest me drawing up a business plan of how to get him to invest in various conglomerates and large business both in Nigeria and abroad if possible.
I sincerely told him that I will think about it as it seem to be a very juicy offer. And also considering my very long work leave in Nigeria at the moment, I might try and get something going.

So over to you guys……..this was my experience yesterday when I visited Treasureline. I was supposed to visit wealth solutions as well, but time was not on my side. I have decided to invest my meagre N30,000 into 15 slots for operational week 23 and then pray with all impunity that I get my payoff, four operational weeks afterwards. I must state here that that is the only amount I can personally invest that I won’t lose sleep on. I am sure visiting Ibadan again on Tuesday to invest, and I will also visit wealth solutions for further questioning and clarifications.

I know I have not done too much but if you guys leave comments, questions and other suggestions as to his consultancy job offer for me in the comments section of this blog, I’ll sure answer them and consider them properly.

Also, I must say a very big thank you to Deolu Akinyemi and Dipotepede for their various Masterpieces on these investment vehicles. They both did inspire me to visit Ibadan.

Note: If you would like to invest into Treasureline, all you need to do is to pay the exact amount of subscription for the slots that you want to invest in into their account details as listed below:

I’ll warn as well that he might not answer too many questions on the phone as he’s been inundated with so many calls. But I am sure he’ll definitely tell you the operational week.

They do have some other bank accounts but these two are the ones I can give for now. I think they now have an office in Osogbo as well. I will find out more on that as well.

I must also say that, I am not being paid for all this advert, only that I find it more convenient for people who ned information to get it this way.
